David Wright

David has over 25 years’ experience of the London Insurance Market.

He started his career in the insurance industry as a graduate trainee after completing his degree course at Oxford University. He progressed as a broker working mainly for Willis where he worked his way up to become an Executive Director in their Political and Financial Risks Department.

In 1998 he joined the Brockbank Group to underwrite their Trade Credit and Contract Frustration risks, rising in 2000 to Deputy Active Underwriter of Syndicates 861/1209. After Brockbanks’ acquisition by XL he became their Global Practice Leader for War and Political Risks.

He joined Antares in August 2013 from CV Starr where he had established a new Political & Financial Risks Division and was Chief Underwriting Officer.

David is a past chairman of Lloyd’s LMA Political Risk and Financial Contingencies Business Panel and continues to be active in this area.
