Antares appoints Head of Ceded Reinsurance

Antares is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Anson as Head of Ceded Reinsurance

Antares is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Anson as Head of Ceded Reinsurance. Reporting to Antares Syndicate 1274's Active Underwriter Joe Battle, Richard will hold responsibility for all outwards reinsurance purchasing and takes up this new role with immediate effect.

With 25 years of insurance market experience, Richard joins Antares from Aviva plc, where he spent four years as Reinsurance Manager, responsible for the acceptance of Group treaty reinsurance risks in to the Group's retention vehicle, Aviva Re, as well as reviewing reserve levels, capital requirements and Solvency II planning for the reinsurance team. Prior to joining Aviva he spent eight years at broker Heath Lambert as Associate Director in its Reinsurance division and eleven years as Senior Treaty Underwriter at Chiyoda Fire and Marine Insurance Company (Europe). He began his career at CNA Re.

Antares boosts Specie presence with the appointment of James Glynn

Antares, announces the appointment of James Glynn as Specie Deputy Underwriter.

He takes up his new role immediately, joining the Antares Marine Cargo & Specie team led by Michael Harding.

James joins Antares after nine years at Willis. As part of its Fine Art, Jewellery and Specie division, he specialised in US Jewellers Block business. His role encompassed a broad range of client work and broking in the Lloyd's and Company markets. James has a wealth of experience dealing with both direct Insureds and producing brokers throughout the US, Canada and Europe.

Michael Harding, Marine and Aviation Underwriting Manager, commented: "James's insight in to the Specie market is extensive, dealing with market participants at all levels and across all major territories. His technical knowledge will be a valuable addition to our team of specialist Underwriters. The Antares Specie book has seen significant growth in recent years and we look to build on this with the dedicated support and expertise that James will provide."

Antares appoints Lucy Peake as Compliance Manager

Antares announces the appointment of Lucy Peake as Compliance Manager. She took up the position on 2nd August 2011 and reports to James Linsao, General Counsel and Director of Legal, Risk and Compliance.

Lucy has over a decade of compliance experience, including eight years in the insurance sector. She joins Antares after spending three years at Travelers, where she was a Senior Risk and Compliance Analyst. In this role, she was the main compliance contact for Travelers Underwriting Agency Limited and Travelers Asia Pte Limited and her responsibilities included regulatory reporting and the development of a risk-based compliance monitoring plan.

Before joining Travelers, Lucy worked at Aon, most recently as a Compliance Manager, where she was responsible for drafting, implementing and maintaining compliance procedures across all divisions of Aon Limited UK.

In her new role, Lucy will be responsible for managing and monitoring compliance matters emanating from a variety of sources, including the FSA, Lloyd's and the EU.

James Linsao, General Counsel and Director of Legal, Risk and Compliance, commented:
